Visual Studio Links #72

by dstokes on September 8, 2008

My latest in a series of the weekly, or more often, summary of interesting links I come across related to Visual Studio.

Channel 9 Stuff:

Greg Duncan posted a link to a Step by step guide to using your Windows Mobile device as a very cool PowerPoint Remote Controller/Terminal.  Not VS related but handy.

Via Jason Haley:  Miguel de Icaza show how to use Visual Studio to Debug Mono.

The Visual Basic Team announced that the Visual Basic Developer Center has been revamped.

Jonathon Wood has created two new videos:

Visual Studio 2008 KB:  Also applies to VS2005.  TFS:  Team Foundation Server experiences Sporadic Connectivity Issues in a Virtual Environment.

Visual Studio 2005 KB:  Hotfix available for A program that is developed by using Visual C++ 2005 may close unexpectedly when an exception occurs on the IA-64 platform.

The Visual Studio Profiler Team is asking for feedback on bugs and product suggestions.

Dave Gardner is asking for feedback on which chapter from Professional Visual Studio 2008 would be a good free chapter download.

DiveDeeper’s blog continues the LearnVSXNow! series with Merging Package Menus with VSCT.

Miguel de Icaza thinks you should Avoid the Managed Extensibility Framework due to the license restrictions that only allow the code to be used on Windows.
